Ecommerce teams don't lack tools. They already run a store platform, a product catalog, photography, and often some 3D. What slows them down is that product content lives in separate pieces: a 3D viewer from one vendor, an AR plugin from another, a photoshoot for every new collection, and files scattered across drives and agencies.

Every new channel means producing the same product again. A new fabric means a new shoot. A new marketplace means new images. A store display means yet another set of files. The product is the same; the work is repeated.

The new Ardata is built around a simple idea: create the product once, as its digital twin, and turn it into every experience your customers need, online, in-store and everywhere in between.

One digital twin, five experiences

Everything in Ardata starts from a faithful 3D model of your product. From that single source, the platform delivers five experiences.

BUILD it — 3D configurators. Real-time 3D in the browser. Customers rotate the product, swap modules, fabrics and finishes, and check dimensions before they buy. Modular products like sectional sofas can be assembled piece by piece, with the total updating as they go.

PLACE it — Augmented reality. Straight from the product page, shoppers place the product at true scale in their own space. No app to download, on iOS and Android. It answers the question no photo can: will it fit, and will it look right here?

CREATE it — AI imaging. Studio shots, lifestyle scenes, material swaps and video, generated with AI from your 3D models or from the photos you already have. New campaigns and seasonal content no longer depend on booking a photoshoot, and our team can step in when you need it.

SHOW it — Photorealistic visuals. The same digital twin renders photo-quality images in any angle, finish or setting. One model covers your product page, catalog, marketplaces and social.

MANAGE it — Your asset library. 3D, 2D and photography live in one CMS, versioned and served to every touchpoint where the product appears. Built-in analytics show how customers interact with each product: 3D views, AR sessions, the variants they choose and your most-viewed items.

Built to complement the way you already work

The new Ardata doesn't ask you to replace your stack. It is designed to plug into the processes your team already runs and make them better.

No re-platforming. Ardata runs on the store you already use — Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, VTEX, BigCommerce, Wix — or any custom site, with a single embed code.

No rebuilt catalog. Viewers sit inside your existing product pages and respect your design.

No slower site. Viewers are hosted on our servers, so your pages stay fast on desktop and mobile.

Start where you are. Already have 3D models? We review them and build on them. Don't have them yet? We create them. For AI content, you can start from the photos you already own.

This is the living catalog

A static catalog shows a product. A living catalog lets people experience it: rotate it, configure it, place it in their own space, see it in new scenes, all from one source that stays consistent everywhere it appears. And every interaction becomes data your team can use to improve product, marketing and the shopping experience.

One product. Every experience. Online, in-store, everywhere.

Does 3D and AR really move conversion?

Letting people spin, configure and place a product in their space before buying consistently raises conversion and lowers returns. According to platform and retailer data, product pages with 3D and AR convert considerably more and are returned far less but only among those who actually use the tool, so adoption is the number to watch.

Does 3D and AR really move conversion?

Yes, and the pattern repeats across very different sellers. Shopify, with data from its own merchants, found that product pages with 3D/AR content convert about 94% higher on average. Wayfair reported close to a 92% conversion lift on products viewed with its "View in Room 3D" feature. DFS, the UK's largest sofa retailer, saw a 112% increase in conversion among shoppers who used its 3D/AR tool across more than 10,000 products.

~94% higher conversion on product pages with 3D/AR content — Shopify, merchant data (platform-wide)

And returns?

This is usually the biggest saving, especially in furniture. Shopify merchants using immersive tools saw returns drop around 40%. Wayfair reported that shoppers who use its in-room AR return about a third less often. IKEA found that AR users reached 98% purchase confidence versus 85% without it, with a considerably lower return rate. The reason is simple: most furniture returns come down to size, fit and color exactly what a flat photo can't confirm and a living catalog can.

~40% fewer returns at merchants with immersive 3D/AR tools — Shopify. Online furniture returns typically run from 15% to 30%, versus ~5–10% in physical stores (industry benchmark; furniture category).

Why does experiencing the product change behavior?

Because it builds confidence, and confidence is what closes the sale. A Harvard Business Review study found that AR users spent about 21% more time interacting and viewed around 1.3x more products. When people can spin a product, configure the exact version they want, and see it in their own room, hesitation turns into a decision.

The catch nobody mentions: adoption.

Here's the honest part. These lifts apply to the people who actually use the 3D or AR tool, not to everyone who lands on the page. A configurator buried three clicks deep won't move your numbers. The real metric isn't whether you have 3D/AR it's how many of your buyers use it. That's why it has to be on the product page, not hidden away.

And this is exactly where we work hand in hand with your marketing team. The technology only pays off when the customer actually finds it and understands it, so we don't hand you a 3D model and walk away. We help your team with the pieces and tools to put the experience front and center: product pages that are impossible to ignore, clear "spin it / view it in your space" prompts, and assets ready to use. We make it easy to use and easy to find. You bring the product, we turn it into something people can experience.

At Ardata, that's the whole idea: one intelligent commerce experience, online and in-store.

A living catalog is a product catalog people can experience, not just view: they spin it, configure it, and place it in their own space in AR, online or in-store. It replaces the flat photo that can't answer a buyer's real questions, and it's what turns a browser into a buyer.

Why do static catalogs lose sales?

For decades, a catalog was a stack of photos. Flat, fixed, and outdated the moment a customer wanted to see the blue one, in their living room, from the back. That's not a catalog. It's a dead end. A static catalog costs you the sale you never saw: the customer who couldn't picture the product, so didn't buy it.

What is a living catalog?

It doesn't just show a product. It lets people experience it. Spin it, configure it, drop it into their own space in AR. They see the version they actually want, not the one you happened to photograph. And it's the same experience online and in-store: on the couch or on the shop floor.

Why "intelligent"?

Because it listens. Every spin, every configuration, every add to cart tells you how people really shop. A static catalog talks. A living catalog listens, and gets smarter with every visit.

Does the format actually matter for conversion?

Yes. Furniture is one of the worst-converting categories online, at around 1.27% on average (Shopify). The problem isn't demand. It's that a flat photo can't be experienced.

A living catalog closes the sale a static one loses. Your products deserve to breathe

At Ardata, that's the whole idea: one intelligent commerce experience that turns your catalog from a brochure into something alive.

What's the last static product page that lost you a sale?

Visual content is no longer a supporting asset in e-commerce. It is the product experience.

Today, brands don't compete on price or delivery times alone — they compete on how clear, realistic and trustworthy a product feels before the customer decides to buy. Images, videos, configurators, interactive experiences and augmented reality directly influence conversion across every channel.

Yet many companies still treat visual content as isolated pieces rather than as a connected system.

At Ardata, we see this gap every day.

3D opened the door, but it was never the destination

Adopting 3D was a turning point for many brands. Suddenly, products could be rotated, customized, explored in detail and even visualized inside real spaces through augmented reality. Configurators, 360° viewers and AR experiences transformed the way customers interact with products online, especially in categories like furniture, architecture, home and design. For a while, that was revolutionary.

But as digital commerce evolved, something fundamental became clear: having 3D assets is no longer enough.

Where most teams start to break down

The real challenge isn't creating a 3D experience — it's scaling visual content across the entire business. Marketing teams need visuals for ads, social media and campaigns. E-commerce teams need PDP imagery that updates with every configuration. Sales teams need tools that help customers decide faster. Retail needs visuals that work both online and in physical stores.

So what usually happens?

Visuals are recreated over and over for different channels

3D assets live in one place, while marketing images live in another

Updates are manual, slow and inconsistent

3D work stays trapped inside a single viewer

The result is high effort, duplicated work, and visuals that can't keep pace with commerce today.

The mindset shift: from visual experiences to visual infrastructure

At Ardata, we believe the future isn't about adding more tools — it's about building a connected visual foundation. That's why Ardata isn't just a 3D viewer or an augmented reality feature.

It's a visual content system designed to:

Centralize product visuals

Generate multiple outputs from a single source

Adapt instantly to changes in products, materials and configurations

Serve e-commerce, marketing, sales and retail at the same time

Instead of creating visuals channel by channel, brands create visuals once and deploy them everywhere.

One product, infinite visual outputs

With Ardata, a single product model becomes the engine behind:

Interactive viewers

Customizable configurations

True-to-scale AR experiences

Marketing visuals and scenes

Sales tools for physical stores

Materials, colors, modules and dimensions stay connected. When a product evolves, its visuals evolve with it — automatically. That's what allows brands to move faster without sacrificing accuracy or consistency.

Why this directly impacts conversion

When visuals are treated as infrastructure and not as decoration, everything changes:

Customers understand products better

Purchase friction goes down

Returns are reduced

Teams launch faster and with greater confidence

Instead of static images trying to explain complex products, customers experience them. And instead of rebuilding assets for every campaign or update, teams can focus on growth.

Augmented reality as a natural extension, not a gimmick

Augmented reality shouldn't be an isolated feature. At Ardata, AR is simply another output of the same visual system. Customers can customize a product, see its real dimensions and place it in their space directly from the browser — no downloads, no apps. It's a seamless, practical experience built for real purchase decisions.

What's next for visual commerce

The question brands should be asking today isn't: "Are we using 3D?"

It's: "Can our visual content scale as fast as our business?"

As channels multiply and expectations rise, isolated tools get left behind. The brands that understand visual content as a flexible, connected and reusable system will be the ones that lead.

Final thought

3D changed the way products are shown. Ardata changes the way visual content works. When visuals are designed to support every channel, team and customer touchpoint, they stop being a bottleneck and become a real growth engine. If your visual content is still fragmented, it may be time to rethink the system behind it.

Discover Ardata. Build visuals that sell, across every channel.
